You can make floral decoration, potpourri and wreaths by using the dried apples or oranges. The home oven is the place allowing you to dry apples and oranges. Once orange and apple are dried, you can use them for permanent arrangements because the slices or chunks of them retain scent and are well preserved. All kinds of fruits can be dried in chunks, slices or peels. Drying the entire whole fruit may not be successful because the middle won’t get all be dried which will cause the fruit to rot from the inside.

What Can You Do to Dry Oranges & Apples for Decoration



1.Cut the fruit into slices which extend between 1/4 and 1/2-inch with a sharp knife. If needed, you can use a vegetable peeler to cut strips of peels.

2.Put the orange slices on a paper and remove excess juice by pressing slightly. Squeeze or squash the oranges should be avoided.

3.Make oranges and peel pieces spread on a cookie sheet. Do not make the slices touch each other, but they can be close together.

4.Place the cookie sheet in the oven after the temperature in it reaches to 200 degrees Fahrenheit.

5.Close the door of the oven and bake for 30 minutes. Then open the door about 2 inches to make the steam and moisture released. Then bake the slices for an additional 3 hours.

6.Turn the orange slices and peel pieces over by using a spatula and bake for 3 more hours. Make the oranges removed from the oven and cool them. Then, you can utilize it for wreaths, potpourri, or store it.
